Blue Amber Counselling – Elizabeth Oakley

I take your privacy seriously and aim to collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary.

I am Elizabeth Oakley, trading as Blue Amber Counselling, and I am the Data Controller responsible for personal information collected through my website, enquiries and professional services.

If You Contact Me

If you contact Blue Amber by email, telephone, text, WhatsApp, an enquiry form or through a booking service, I may receive information such as your:

• name
• email address or telephone number
• information contained within your enquiry
• appointment or booking information

Please avoid including highly sensitive or unnecessary personal information in an initial enquiry.

I use this information to respond to you, manage enquiries and appointments and operate my private practice.

My lawful bases for processing information may include taking steps towards providing a service you have requested, legitimate interests in operating a safe and responsible private practice, legal obligations and, where appropriate, consent.

Who May Process Your Information

I use appropriate digital services to operate Blue Amber, which may include email and communication providers, Fresha for bookings and administration, Zoom for online services, and banking or payment providers.

Some providers may process information outside the UK using applicable data-protection safeguards.

I do not sell your personal information.

How Long Is Enquiry Information Kept?

If you make an enquiry but do not become a client, I will not keep your information indefinitely. It will be securely deleted when there is no longer a reasonable administrative, safety or legal reason to retain it.

Your Rights

You have rights under UK data-protection law. Depending on the circumstances, these may include asking to access or correct your information, requesting deletion or restriction, objecting to certain processing and withdrawing consent where consent is being relied upon.

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact me.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data-protection regulator.

Becoming a Client

If you decide to use a Blue Amber service, you will receive my full Privacy, Confidentiality and Data Protection Notice before the relevant personal and sensitive information is collected.

The full notice explains in greater detail how information is handled during counselling, psychotherapy, counselling supervision and other Blue Amber services, including confidentiality, safeguarding, professional records, digital systems and AI-assisted tools, retention and your information rights.
